About NORAVA Consulting

NORAVA Consulting began in 2007 shortly after Jim Powell retired from the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE).  Jim spent the last 16 years of his federal career building an outstanding team of professionals at DOE’s Southeast Regional Office based in Atlanta and at DOE headquarters in Washington.  These career federal employees all had extensive experience in managing federally funded energy programs and projects.  Some of these former DOE employees now work for NORAVA Consulting.

NORAVA Consulting provides a number of services such as the identification of funding sources, liaison and partnership building with state and federal government agencies, development of funding proposal documentation and support for project reporting and project management.

As many new startup firms, NORAVA Consulting started small with a select group of clients by providing technical and financial assistance to companies needing assistance in developing responses to Funding Opportunity Announcements (solicitations) issued by the various federal agencies.  Initially, Jim recruited a select group of the former employees from his days with DOE.  These are people that used to live on the other side of the fence and have experience knowing what a quality application looks like.  These people are the very same people that used to review, rate and rank applications for federal funding through their participation on merit review panels.

As new clients and workload increased, additional consultants covering a breadth of skill sets have been added.  We are a virtual consulting firm offering the talents necessary to quickly provide the supplemental staff our clients need when responding to government-related opportunities and requirements.

We are committed to providing a quality service at reasonable rates.  You will find our rates are very competitive and much lower than what you find from Washington DC based consultants.  NORAVA Consulting is proud to be a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.
